Matthew Rivera

Matthew Rivera is managing director of Image Restoration Center and our most senior restoration artist. But, being the absolute workaholic that he is, he is also IRC’s photography writer.

As an expert photographer and restoration artist, Matthew has an unmatched mastery of the physical and digital image. He can give recommendations and insights that few people in the world can rival. While he’s not an expert writer, our editor helps him clarify his thoughts into concise articles.

Matthew has over 40 years experience in photography and over 20 years experience in photo restoration. His mastery of the art of the image is second-to-none. He is the founder of the IRC site and his influence can be found in every nook and cranny.

Prior to founding IRC he worked as a freelance restoration artist and a journalist photographer. When he finds time away from his busy work life he can be seen volunteering for not-for-profits on Sundays.

Matthew holds no university degree – he was a bit of a problem child in his youth. He apparently has photos of him in the 80s with a 12 inch mohawk, but he won’t let any of the IRC office see it.
